Bedford Sharks

Hello Sharks!! My name is Logan. I am a sopohmore at UNCW and I am excited to be coaching again this summer.  I swam for the Marlins of Raleigh and Enloe High School swim teams and I have been with the Bedford Sharks for 12 years. This is my fourth season coaching the Sharks and I am excited to see our swimmers compete and have fun. Can't wait for a great season! GO SHARKS!!!!

Hello Sharks! My name is Kyra Schultz, and I am so excited to come on board as your Co-Head Coach this summer! I grew up in Virginia, where I swam on a large USA team, my high school team, and different summer league teams. When I graduated high school in 2020, I was the Assistant Coach for my county summer league team, who were also the Sharks!  I went to school in Rochester, New York at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I was a member of the RIT Swim & Dive team for two years before I was injured and took a step back from swimming. Since then, I’ve lived in Maryland, Massachusetts, England, and now North Carolina. I moved to the Raleigh area in September 2025 and have been coaching with the New Wave Swim Team since then. I’m excited for a summer of FUN and fast swimming! Go Sharks! 

Hey Sharks! My name is Grayson and I am senior at Cardinal Gibbons High School - where I played football, swam and currently play lacrosse. I have been a Bedford Shark swimmer since I was 5 years old, and I swam with the Marlins of Raleigh for 8 years. I am very excited about the opportunity to coach for a third year. Go Sharks!

Hey! My name is Blake Savastano and this is my 3rd year coaching for the Bedford Sharks!  I've been on the team since I was 6 and under and I love the sport of swimming!  I swam competitively for the Marlins of Raleigh for many years. I am a rising senior at Millbrook High School.  

Hello Sharks!! My name is Mason Waechter. I am a rising senior at Millbrook High School and I am looking forward to coaching you this summer. I am swimming in the Senior 3 group for Marlins of Raleigh. I have been swimming in Bedford for 10 years. I am so glad to be coaching you this summer for a third season.

Hey Sharks! My name is Ben Miner, and I’m a rising junior at Wake Early College of Health Sciences. I started swimming with the Bedford Sharks when I was twelve and fell in love with the sport. After two seasons, I joined the Marlins of Raleigh to swim year-round and keep improving. Now, I’m so excited for my second year as a Bedford Sharks Coach! I can’t wait to help everyone get better at swimming while having fun in the water. Let’s make this season awesome! Go sharks!

Hey Sharks! My name is Ben Wilgus and I am rising junior at Millbrook High School. I joined the Bedford Sharks as a little 6 & under swimmer and this will be my 11th season on the team.  I have been swimming year round with the Marlins of Raleigh for the past 8 years and currently swim with Senior 3. I also swim on the Millbrook High School team and play lacrosse at Millbrook. I am looking forward to my second summer as a Bedford Sharks Coach, lifeguard, and swim lesson instructor. Hello, My name is Dorothy Grant, I am a rising senior at Raleigh Charter High School. I used to swim year-round for the Marlins of Raleigh and now swim for the TAC Titans. I swim on the Raleigh Charter High School Swim Team. I have swam for the Sharks for 3 years. I look forward to a fun season. Go Sharks!

Hello Sharks! My name is Isabella Buff, and I am a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill. I swam year-round with the Marlins of Raleigh and New Wave and was also on the Millbrook High School swim team. This will be my first year coaching with the Bedford Sharks and am looking forward to a great season!
